BT's pep-rally before the walk/run. Dr. Gibbs announced that the school raised $10,000 to donate to The Cure Starts NOW (pediatric brain cancer research) in memory of Maddie Schumaker who past away this last December. She was in Sophia's 3rd grade class this year.
The 3rd graders had their special Maddie headbands on.
Corrie and Jesse Schumaker thanked the school for allowing them to raise funds for the research. Made me cry.
It is still very raw for them and he could barely get through his speech.
