Kisses, Kisses, Kisses

Today before Sophie went down for her nap we were just messing around and I was asking for kisses. She started kissing and would rock back and forth and kiss again and rock and kiss again. She did it like 6 times. I love her kisses and it was so cute.

Another thing that I was doing today & being goofy was I was whispering in my quietest voice 'Hey' to her. And she started whispering it back to me also. She would start giggling because she likes whispering really quietly.

Magical Night

Tonight we celebrated Vernon's parents 48th wedding anniversary. We had my uncle Steve 'The Amazing Lindy' come and perform a magic show (he does this for a living now). Everyone really enjoyed the show. Every time everyone would laugh and clap Sophie was being so funny and she would start laughing really loud because everyone else was laughing and that would make everyone laugh harder. It was so funny. It was like she was right on cue. She was being a total ham. Steve wanted to have her at every show because she 'got' his jokes and laughed at him. It was a nice evening and I know his parents really enjoyed it!

Mama's Chair

Sophie now has a favorite new place to play...her mama's chair. She can get herself up there lickity split and then will play with everything on the table next to it. Mama's not enjoying this new found play area.

Just being goofy.

Dog Beating

Today I gave Sophie an empty paper towel roll to play with. I showed her how to bang it on the floor to make noises with and she stuck her and and forarm in it to make her arm really long and she was having fun. All of a sudden I look over and she is whacking Raja over the head with the roll. Poor Raja was just taking it, she was squinting her eyes and lowering her head, then she was out of there and went in the other room. I told Sophie you can not hit Raja. I made her go give Raja a kiss and tell her she was sorry.

Black & White

Pool Hat

This picture cracks me up every time I look at it.

It was a nice humid day for a dip.

Sitin'

This was Sophie sitting on our step going into the living room. I thought she looked really cute with her hands on her knees.

I enjoy putting stuff on her head. This is one of my headbands. She left it on for a really long time. She also has been leaving hats that I put on her for a long time too. Now if only I can get her to leave hair bands and barrettes in...

Fork

Today when I was feeding Sophia dinner she grabbed the fork from me. I am kind of a control freak when it comes to feeding her. I like to feed her so there is not a huge mess on my living room carpet. But, I do want her to learn how to feed herself and for the past couple weeks I would stick a piece of whatever she is eating on the fork and then hand her the fork and she would put it in her mouth. Tonight, since she grabbed the fork I decided to put one blueberry and then one piece of a fish stick on her tray and she tried to stab it. She wasn't able to do it and kept trying to push the tongs on top of it and smoosh it. I tried to help her by showing her how to stab it, she would smile every time she 'thought' she did it. In the end she ended up just picking up the fish stick piece with her hand. We will keep trying!

Being Goofy

Just some random picts. from today. I think I have decided I am more of a photo blogger, I seem to always have to have a picture or video in my posts. I think maybe because I feel that you all who read this can see what I am talking about better and I just like documenting with pictures, I guess (it's in my blood).

She went in Raja's kennel this morning and was just chillin' in there.

Word of the day: Smile

Or in Sophie lingo: 'Mynol' I was taking a picture of her this morning and I said Sophie smile. Then she kept saying mynol, mynol, mynol. Vernon and I were cracking up.
Oh yeah, this is her new, forced 'mynol' below.

I even got her saying it on video. It's a little dark, but you can still hear her say it.

Arrrr matey

Woops, I forgot to post yesterday. It was family day and we just did a lot around the house. Then I was organizingthe craft room and just forgot to post. Sophie enjoyed the day hanging out with both mama and dada. We went for a walk in the evening when it was so nice out. It was just a fun and relaxing day.

I think Sophie looks like a pirate with this bandana on her head. We were just being silly.

Peek-Thru

Today Vernon's parent's watched Sophie while we worked. They told me that since it was so nice out today, they were outside on the back porch. It was getting sunny out and they were going to go inside and Sophie kept touching the porch that was sunny with her hand and saying 'HOT', 'HOT'. They thought that was cute!

Fountain

More pictures of Sophie playing outside at my parent's by their fountain.

Bubble Blowing Beauty

Sophie was trying to blow bubbles out of this huge bubble blower. She will stick her lips right on the wand and get it in her mouth.

Sunny Days

Today was such a beautiful day. My parents had Sophie today while I was at work. They spent a good chunk of the day outside, since it was so nice. Sophie was drawing with sidewalk chalk and just playing around. She loves being outside.

Goodbye Picnic

Today we went to Vernon's dad's going away picnic. He will be doing maintenance at a different apartment complex WAY out on 180th & Dodge. He loved showing off his grandkids to all the ladies. He was really glad we all came.

Isabella wanted to take Sophie for a walk.

Sophie's Toys

You know what I love about Sophie? She can play with the simplest of things for such long periods of time. She doesn't need the newest, fanciest toys in the toy store. She is content as can be with an old ice cream bucket and one of my old spatulas or a piece of paper she ripped off Raja's dog food bag, or a sticker that I peeled off a banana. And thank goodness, since we are on the debt diet, but even if we weren't I think that bombarding kids with so many stimulating, entertaining toys is overload and they don't learn to be imaginative or they then always NEED to have a toy to entertain themselves. I like that she can play with an empty box and be so intrigued.
Here she is playing with one of her bibs. This video only was a tiny part of the entire time she was playing with it. She is such a good baby and such a blessing in our life.

A beautiful day for a picnic

Today I had my picnic for work at the Boys Town lake. It was such a nice evening for it. Sophie had a good time. She kept wanting to run around with the older kids. I didn't get to sit and chit chat with everyone, I had to keeping chasing her around.

She wanted to hug all the babies and she has an infatuation with babies binky's. She loves taking them out of their mouths and then putting it back in (several times). She is actual kind of forceful about it too.
Here she is hugging my new bosses baby.
She posed for a picture with Heather (her first babysitter).
Karen was tickling her belly and being silly. At first Sophie wasn't too sure of her, but by the end she was giggling uncontrollably.

Bunny Sounds

This morning I was asking Sophie what does the bunny say? Then I would make this quiet, little tapping sound with my tongue and scrunch up my nose and squint my eyes. She was trying to do it and it was cracking me up. She would squint her eyes and crinkle her nose. It was really cute. I am going to try to get it on video because I was laughing so hard today.

Big Foot

I brought the tricycle up from the storage room, that Sophie got at Christmas from Great Grandma and Grandpa. She loves riding on the second step and scooting around. She also likes the bell.
She is giving daddy a high five here.
She was carrying around daddy's BIG shoe and then started trying to put it on and standing in it. She looked so funny.

Blueberry Girl

I made a little blueberry banana smoothie for Sophie and I today. She LOVED it!!!!
I let her drink it out of a cut off straw in her little cup.
Then she started playing with it and dunking her hand into it. I really never let her play with her food, but I decided to just let her today. She had fun (although in this picture she looks mad - but she was actually just concentrating)
This girl is a banana fanatic and since we have 30 bananas to eat up, she is lovin' it. She eats an entire one by herself, no problem. I usually hold it for her, but today I let her hold it. She did pretty good.

Cousin Isabella's 3rd Birthday

Today was had Isabella's 3rd brithday party. Sophie had so much fun playing with all of their toys, and boy did they have a lot!!!! Sophie was in TOYLAND heaven.
She loved this huge giraffe and carried him around the house. It was bigger than she was.
They have a bouncy house. Sophie has never been in one before. She really loved it when the girls would jump and she would bounce up and down. And of course she liked all the balls in there.
Then they swam in the pool. This was the deepest pool Sophie has been in. She had a blast. By the end she wanted to jump in & out of the pool like the older girls were.

Kiera (on the left) will be 2 in September. Isabella (top) 3 today.
