Smooching Polar Bears
Yesterday I was giving Sophie Eskimo kisses and she would move her nose back and forth over my nose and giggle because she thought it was funny. Today when she got up this morning we did it again and she remembered how to do it!!! She even did it with daddy when he asked her to give him Eskimo kisses. She is so serious when she does it, sticking her neck out and concentrating on getting her nose right on our nose. It was too CUTE!!! I can't believe she remembered how to do it after only learning the day before.

Manners
Yesterday, Sophie was sitting on my lap and I was giving her some flavored puff cereal pieces. I started having her say, 'more please' and then 'thank you'. We practiced and I would say it and want her to mimic me. Finally, after a little while, she was doing it! She was so cute. She really didn't say the words, but she would mumble something close in the same tone that I said it. It was so cute. When I would say, "Yeah, good girl"!!! She would look at me with a big cereal smile.

New Face
Sophie started making a weird face today. We don't know where she got it from. She crinkles up her nose and squints her eyes and giggles between her teeth. She did it all day today. It was funny, but she looked like she was possessed! Scary!!!

The games we play.
Sophie has a new thing she likes to do. If I hold her on my lap and tip her backwards down on my legs and tickle her she squeals with giggles. I bring her back up and she won’t stay sitting up she wants to fling herself back down to be upside down again. She love this. She also likes flipping all the way over into a somersault down my legs onto the floor. She will then crawl back over and pull herself up on my leg and want to be picked up to do it again. It’s a fun game for both of us!

The JOYS of baby proofing!
Last week I looked over at Sophie, she was over by Vernon’s computer and had a USB cord that was to his external hard-drive IN HER MOUTH (it was plugged in)! I flew up and screamed NO to her several times while lunging towards the cord. She looked up at me with a surprised look and took the cord out of her mouth and flashed me a huge smile, then she started laughing, probably because I seemed crazy coming at her like that. I was trying so hard to be serious so she would understand that you do not put electric cords in your mouth, but I started laughing. I had to turn my head away because I couldn’t stop laughing. I decided then, that this disciplining thing was going to be more difficult than I thought.

Snuggling is the best!
Is there anything better than a baby snuggling up on you when falling asleep? It is my FAVORITE special time. I love rubbing and softly scratching her back. The smell of her hair and her little hands around my arms...so delicious. I wish those times would never end.
Gross
Last Saturday Sophie was playing over by the desk in the kitchen and I saw her chewing on something. I went over and swept her mouth and found a piece of a box lid in there. After I got that out I saw her chewing on something else and I swept again and got a chunk of Raja's toe nail that had been clipped a long time ago that she found on the floor. It was about a centimeter long. I almost started gagging. She just looked up at me and didn't seem to mind at all. Needless to say I have now THOROUGHLY cleaned the floor.

Smart Cookie
Today I was holding Sophie up by the refrigerator and I asked her, "Where's daddy?" while looking at all the pictures on the frige. She took a minute and then with her little pointer finger she pointed right at daddy. Vernon and I both started clapping and cheering her. She just looked at us with the biggest grin. It was precious. We then did it again with, "Where's mommy?" and "Where's Raja?". She got mommy right, but did not know where Raja's was. It was a very fun moment. I can't get over how quickly their little brains learn, she's only 8 months old. That seems crazy to me!!
New to this Blog stuff!
Well, I decided to try this blogging business. I want to be able to record what happens with our family though the years in an easy and quick way.
