The Blatt

This is the final week of Royal's games at Rosenblatt. My parents wanted to take all of us down one last time. My brother Robby didn't want to go, so it was my other brother Ricky and his family and my family and my parents. We got a picture outside of the stadium before we went in.
The girls were so excited to see eachother.
Vollen and I sharring a hotdog.

Grandpa got cotton candy for the girls. They were hyped up on sugar (see video below).
Vollen got sleepy, it was past his bed time.
We were thinking about getting ready to head out. There was lightening starting up.

We didn't decide to leave soon enough. It started raining and then went to pouring rather quickly.
We had to run to the cars. We got DRENCHED. Like I just got into the shower with all my clothes on...hair dripping. Everyone was soaked. Poor Bubba had that scared to death look on his face when you put him in the bath tub and he is getting into the water. He didn't like it, especially being tired and ready to fall asleep.
A camera guy came over to us and asked us if he could put the 'hawk' up on the screen. We said sure. He said after the next out. So, we got him all ready and we got the video camera ready.

We had quite the adventure! It will be a night we won't forget.

1st Dentist Visit

The kids had their first dentist appointments today. Well, really it was Sophie's appointment and the dentist just took a look at Vollen's teeth to make sure they looked good....and they did!
Sophie went back with the dental assistant with no hesitation and was such a big girl. It really wasn't a surprise to me, I knew she would do great. Vollen played while Sophie was getting her teeth cleaned.
He had a blast. This was where my brothers and I went to the dentist when we were growing up. It was SO WEIRD. Freaky weird. NOTHING has changed at all. The chairs in the waiting room are exactly the same, the toy section is the same, but with a few new toys, I swear there is some from when we went there too!!!
The benches are exactly the same. Same, same, same. They have held up really well all these years!!! Talk about freaky and deja vu!
So, the dentist called me back to discuss the results. First of all. I LOVE the dentist. She is AWESOME!!! So friendly and it felt like we were best friends. I was telling her that I had gone there when I was little. She said, "No way, I did too." She said, "Who was your dentist?" I said, "Dr. Vogalsberg." She said, "He was my dentist too!" She said he retired back in 1990. So we talked about that for a while. It was neat. Anyway, she said Sophie has textbook teeth. No problems, everything looks great, no cavities. She loves the spacing between her teeth, they will leave plenty of room for the big ones coming through. Sophie let them take x-rays of all her teeth without any problems. She said that rarely happens, most kids get a little leery of them x-raying the back teeth, but she had no problems at all. She was so excited to get a new toothbrush, and two princess stickers, a little ballerina toy and a balloon. Overall it was a very positive experience!
She took a look at Vollen's teeth and thought they looked very good. No issues to worry about now.
He did good too!
Even those fun house mirrors behind Sophie were there when I was little.
We can't wait to go back in 6 months!!!

NYC

We decided this weekend that Vernon and I are going to take a little weekend trip up to New York!!!! Since we kind of have a reason to go, Vollen's picture will be shown in the video montage before the NY Buddy Walk in Time Square, we thought it is a good enough reason to get away for a few days. I still can't believe it. I have never been and always have wanted to go. We are booking our flight/hotel as I type this! We are staying 2 blocks from Time Square in a new hotel called The Intercontential Hotel.
I know it will just be a few days, but we are determined to cram as much sight-seeing and good eats as we can in 4 days. I am taking suggestions and recommendations from anyone and everyone as to what we need to see when we are there and where we should eat. We especially LOVE Japanese/sushi, Indian, Chinese/dim sum, but also like Italian, American, Mexican...pretty much anything! Cafes, tea, & cupcake shops, good pizzeria are all welcomed too!

Sophie LOVES going to boat rides. She asked Uncle Georgie if he would take her.
Ella went too!

My grandma and her sisters.
She had fun playing in the sand and water. She didn't want to leave.
Playing peek-a-boo with mama.

Good Day

Today we didn't have much of anything planned. Vollen's therapist called and said she wouldn't be able to make it over today, there was a death of a friend of a friend or something. So, we just got stuff done around the house. I FINALLY dug a hole through my craft room. It was so messy I couldn't even walk in it. NO JOKE. Can we say HORDERS!! It's Sophie's fault. She comes in when I am doing cards and does her 'cards' and makes some huge messes on the floor with cut up paper and markers every where, trash and just junk. It's not perfect, nor will ever be, but at least I can work at the desk and not have to shove things aside to just work in a 3x5 in. area and I can get to the desk without twisting my ankle.
Just messin'
Silly Sophie.
Buster.
Finishing lunch.

Raja hugs.

Jenni's Birthday Lunch

We had Jenni, Addi and Landon over for lunch for Jenni's birthday last week.
Vollen wanted to check out baby Landon.
The girls had fun playing together. All of a sudden they came downstairs in these outfits. This was a dress from when Sophie was like a year old. And Addi had two skirts on, one as a top. It was so funny. Jenni and I were laughing so hard.
Vollen trying to get another peek at the baby. He was sure interested in him.

Open House

Today we had Sophie's open house for her new school and class. We were running late because I was thinking it was a different time. Anyway, we were about 10 minutes late. So, they had already started and the teacher was talking. We walked in and the teacher gave Sophie her name tag and said she could go sit down. She sat right in the middle of everyone by herself. She was such a BIG girl. She sat so nice with her hands in her lap, intently listening to her teacher talk. It was the cutest thing. Some of the mom's came up to me later and said how neat they thought that was that she just sat there so pristine and poised. They were impressed! Plus, all the other kids were with their parent or parents and she was all alone in the middle. We just stood by the door because there was no room to maneuver the stroller.
After the teacher talked, they got to explore the room and check everything out.
Sophie found a princess book and said, "Look mom, they have lots of princess books!"

Friends and now school mates!
The dads chatting.
The hamster, Punkin' was hiding in his little igloo house. Probably scared to death of all the people and kids!
Trying to get a look at him.

All the kids were already playing together. The girls went to the kitchen and the boys went to the dinosaurs and trucks.

Here she is with her teacher, Mrs. Ziemba. She is AWESOME!!!! We really, really, really like her. I think she is going to be great!
Little Landon came too!

Checking out the craft tools!!! That's our girls!!!

Everyday when the kids come into the classroom they are to wash their hands. I had Sophie practice. She did it perfect all by herself. She also thought the toilets were really neat. So tiny just her size.
Her classroom.
And a little water fountain. She has never done a water fountain before. She loved it and got the hang of it. We are so excited around her for school to start. I think I am more excited than she is!!!! We have to go out and get her a backpack and a binder. How fun! School shopping!!!
