Typical Thursday

Sophie was playing with this toy ring when she woke up today. She kept trying to put it on her toe without using her hands. She got it a couple times.

We went down to daddy's work today to visit. It was a nice change of pace for our day.

Dancing Queen

Watchin' some Curious George with daddy.

For some reason I think Sophie looks so old in this video. She is reading her little magazine on Healthy Pets. She starts off saying 'mee' for meow as in the cat says meow. And everything is still "What's That?" Too cute.

Here Sophie is dancing to the opening song of Curious George. That girl cracks me up with her little dance moves. She kept twirling and twirling and ended up throwing up just after I stopped filming...gross!

My 30th Birthday...Yikes!

Today for my birthday my mom took me out to lunch to Cheesecake Factory. We had a nice lunch and Sophie was on her best behavior for her mommy's birthday.
My mom and I went to dinner with Ricky, Abby & the girls.

After lunch we walked around the mall. We went into Gymboree just to look around, this video was Sophie watching the little video on the tv they have playing for the kids. Watch her go up to this other little girl. My mom and I were cracking up at her. The little girl kept saying, "Mom" (like...mom come get me - this little girl keeps touching me!) It was helarious.

I Love You!

Today was family day, everyones favorite! We were playing around on the floor with Sophie and out of the blue we swore she said, "I Love You". Vernon and I looked at each other and said did she just say what we think she said. We both agreed that she did, it was pretty clear. We are counting it.

Oh so cute hug for daddy!

I also have been forgetting to write that she can now step down that step that goes into the living room without holding on to anything or getting onto the floor and scooting over & down it. She is a little skittish still and will carefully step down with one leg and then do a deep squat and bring the other leg down. She has been able to do it for a couple weeks now.

Grandpa

Well, grandpa always complains that he doesn't have ANY pictures with Sophie. Uh....maybe because he is the one who is always behind the camera!!! So, we grabbed the camera real fast and got ONE! Here he is reading a book with Sophie.

Magical

Last night my uncle Steve was the headliner in a magic show at the Ice House. It was a fun night with TONS of family and friends. We had an enjoyable time and a nice evening out. Hopefully there will be more to come!

Daddy's Pocket

Sophie's favorite thing to do with daddy is find what is in his pocket after he gets home from work. Here is a great example of what happens when daddy gets home. It makes everyone smile!

Crayola Time

I bought Sophie her first box of crayons today for 23 cents. I had to teach her what to do with them. She kinda got it, but she enjoyed dumping them out and putting them back in the box more than anything. We also went a little bit off the paper onto the tile, I was expecting that.
I love those big eyes...and she looks like she is in trouble.
We might need to change the name to Casie and Sophie's Craft Corner!!!

Bubble Giggles

I was blowing bubbles today and Raja started trying to eat them. Sophie thought that was so funny. I just love when she laughs really hard. I was able to get it on camera. This should make you laugh!!!

Sleepy Day

Today Sophie slept so much. She slept all through the night last night with out waking up. For her morning nap she slept for 2 1/2 hours when usually it is an hour. Her afternoon nap she slept for 1 1/2 hours when usually it is an hour. Hopefully that means her cold will be getting better!

Sophie helped me today when I was using the mixer. She liked to be up helping momma bake.

Today my mom got her hair cut, highlighted and straightened. It looked really good. Different, for her, but good. At first, it took Sophie a minute to realize who it was.

Baby Jail

This is where I found Sophie's baby dolls last night after she went to bed. I thought it was so funny. Then this morning she got them out and later put them back in there again. Silly girl.

Water Park

Today we took Sophie to this small, free, outdoor water park next to a school by my parent's house. She actually wasn't too thrilled about it. It was cloudy and a little breezy and the water was freezing. She didn't even want to walk through any of the water. She would start screaming if we would try to take her out in any of the water. Anyway, we will try it again, maybe on a warmer day. At this point she was content wrapped up in her towel just watching all the kids running around.

Zoo Day....Hooray!

Today my mom and I took Sophie to the zoo to see the butterflies. It was a warm one, but not bad in the shade with the breeze. We had fun seeing the new butterfly exhibit, all the old favorites and having a picnic lunch. Sophie had a good time. We stopped to get ice cream afterwards and Sophie kept saying mo mo mo (for more ice cream) then she fell asleep on the way home after a few bites.

This is a leafy seahorse. It was so strange looking...almost unreal.
Sophie loves putting her legs up in the stroller. It's her favorite way to travel!
Giving grandma a silly kiss.
I think the jellyfish are my all-time favorite thing at the zoo.

Puppy Chow

Sophie found a piece of Raja's food on the floor and then she wanted to feed it to her. We grabbed the camera and got it on tape. It was real cute. The first time Raja ate it, but then she wouldn't eat anymore.

Sweet Corn

Last night was Sophie and Skyler's first time trying to eat corn OFF of the cob. It was really funny. Skyler was going to town chomping that ear of corn and smiling all the while. Sophie was a little more dainty about it (I think she was extremely tired and was almost falling asleep while eating). They both did really good and suprised us that they 'knew' how to do it. It was cute.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ABBY!!!!

Tippy Toes

Sophia has been walking around a lot on her tippy toes. She also now can go up on her tips to look into drawers and pull stuff out. YIKES!!! *Honey-do-list: Put locks on the drawers*

Here is a video of Sophie stirring in her bucket.

Another Modeling Shoot

Today Sophie had her second modeling shoot for a Pamida ad. It was for Halloween, she was in a pumpkin costume. It was with 2 other kids. It was also very warm in the studio to begin with and the kids had the hot costumes on and they got really hot and sweaty with the lights and basically being bundled up. All the parents were hot from running around and chasing the kids and getting them back into place. It was a lot of work, but hopefully they were able to get some good ones.

My camera has been acting wierd lately, if Sophie moves or there is not enough light, then the picture is blured. I liked this photo, but it's blury.

She has been having so much fun with Ring Around The Rosey, here is a little snipit!

More Severe Weather

Well, I haven't written for a while. I guess I have been busy. Anyway, last night our computers were down due to lightening and stormy weather. Thank God they started working again (I don't know what I would do without my internet)! A house exactly 2 blocks over from us was hit by lightening and the roof burned off. SCARY - we actually thought for a moment last night that our house was on fire because we smelled smoke in our bedroom, but then relized our bedroom window was cracked open and the smoke from that house burning had filled the whole neighborhood and seeped in our window.

Let's see, Sophie has been a kissing fool this week. She is so cute, when you ask her for a kiss she sticks out her neck and puts her lips on yours. It is so sweet. I told Vernon I want to get a picture of her kissing (we still haven't yet).
Just a reminder - in case you forgot:
You can click on the photos to make them larger on your screen!

Finally, her hair is able to be put into tiny piggy's - too bad she won't leave them in!

When she was playing outside she kept stirring water in her pail. She must have done it for like a half hour straight.

I drove by the house today that's roof burned down

New Things

Sophie has been doing all kinds of new, fun things lately. One of them is she likes to twirl around in a circle and then fall on the floor, probably because grandma sings Ring Around the Rosey to her.

Another thing she did today with Grandpa Schlueter is he would say PEEK and she would say BOO. They said she just did it out of the blue and more than one time! They sure got a kick out of her.

If she is mad, you tell her NO or she doesn't like the answer you give her she falls down on the floor backwards props herself up on her elbows and kicks her legs straight up in the air (it's her first -probably of many - tantrums). Most of the time she doesn't say anything, but sometimes she will whine a little. Thank goodness this does not happen very often!

It is crazy how fast she is picking up words. It is at least 2 new words every day. Here are her latest: Waffle, Door, Bath and Duck. She is now up to about 36 words total. I better watch my mouth since she is such a sponge lately. Yikes!!!

I think that is all I can think of for now. I am sure I am forgetting other things.

Our 4th Anniversary

Today is our 4th Wedding Anniversary. We reminisced about the wedding day and tried to go through that day and remember what all we did. It was nice to think back. I made our favorite India dish and we had a nice evening at home together.

Sophie was really cute today. She woke up a little early this morning and so we rocked in her room and read a book. It had colors and pictures of different things. So I was reading through them and I said Purple and she said Purple. I looked at her and said what did you just say and she said Purple plain as day. I was so excited and shocked. Then we kept going and I said Brown and she said brow. I couldn't believe it. She has never said those words before. She had a big smile on her face and it was like she was just so proud that she could say them.

Later in the afternoon I was getting dinner ready and I look over at Sophie, she had grabbed Raja's snout with both of her hands on each side and brought it up to her face and gave her a kiss on the nose and then looked at me with a big smile. Oh, it was just the cutest. Raja just looked at her. Too bad I didn't have the video camera. That was a precious moment!

Upside down

Today I had a funny experience with Sophie while she was nursing this morning. Since she has gotten a little older, she is a lot more squirmy while she nurses. She usually flips over to her stomach WHILE nursing and then stickes her butt up in the air and her legs are straight down on the boppy. She loves that position. Well, today she started climbing up me with her legs until her legs were straddling my neck and she was completely upside down on her head ALL WHILE STILL NURSING. I started laughing because she was in the craziest position and then she started giggling because I was laughing. It was really funny.

New Words

Another day of swimming, for some reason I think the look on her face in this picture is funny. Yesterday, she said 'Toes' and today she said 'Pool' for the first time. She is up to 29 words that she says.

Laundry Ride

Today was family day. We had a fun and relaxing day. Daddy took Sophie for a ride in the laundry basket with her baby dolls. She played with that basket all day long. It was really cute.

Pool Time

I just love this picture of her little booty hanging out of her suit.
Her new favorite thing is laying on Raja. She just loves it.

These are some picts. from earlier this week of Sophie swimming. Her rash (from her virus) is just about gone today. It lasted 6 days. YUCK! Thank goodness that is over.

Happy Independance Day!!!

Sittin' with grandpa on the stairs
Breakfast at Grandma and Grandpa Schlueters
She liked the water!
with grandma at the parade
Playing with daddy on the lawn

Sophie went to her first parade today. She seemed to like watching all the commotion and people. She liked the small Shriner cars zooming by and she didn't know what to think of those weird clowns. She liked the water bottle they through to the crowd most of all I think! Overall it was a good Fourth of JULY.

Popsicles

Yesterday during my staff meeting, my mom watched Sophie. She had her first popsicle. She loved it. She would take a lick and then give me a cheesy smile. Her lips were all red, like she had lipstick on.

Poke-a-dot baby

Okay, here is the scoop. When Sophie woke up from her afternoon nap on Sunday she was very hot, I took her temp. and it was 103.5, so I gave her some Motrin and the fever went down. The next day (Monday) she still was having the fever when the Motrin would wear off, so I called the dr. and they said to bring her in just to check everything out. So, I took her in and her right ear was just starting to get a small ear infection. Okay, so the doctor put her on Amoxicillin 2 times a day, so I gave her a dose that night before bed and again in the morning when she got up. That afternoon (Tuesday) I started seeing a rash on her body. I called my mom to ask her if she thought she saw a rash on her and she did. So I called the doctor and told them and they wanted me to bring her in at 6:15pm. It was 5:00 by this time and I told them that she goes to bed at 6:00 and so that wouldn't work. They said that was okay as long as she wasn't having trouble breathing or it wasn't itching. So, I took her in this morning (Wednesday), they said the rash was not an allergic reaction to the Amoxicillin - if it was not hives or welts, they said the rash was just caused from a virus and to keep giving her the medicine and it should go away in a few days. It got really bad as the day progressed today. By bed time she had really dark red dots all over her whole body especially on her booty and upper thighs. It looks really bad, but she doesn't seem to be bothered by it. So that is good. I hope it goes away soon!
