First Field Trip

Today was Sophie very first field trip! Thanks to Grandpa Lindeman I was able to go with her baby free. He was nice enough to watch Ronan for me.
One of Sophie's good friends at school, Evelyn (Evy).
Getting name tags on and lining up.

This is the first time riding on a bus for each and every kid!
They were all so excited. They have been stoked for this trip for about 2 weeks now. They talked about it every day at school. They thought it was the neatest thing ever! Look at my proper girl over there on the left waiting so patiently and nicely. She is such a good girl.

Her teacher Mrs. Hirth counting the kids.
Eve and Sophie wanted to sit together.

Arriving at Kona Grill. The class was invited to go there because Eve's mom is the general manager there.

The kids got to take a tour of the kitchen and the big refrigerator and see where they make and prepare all the food. The moms all sat in the dining room and waited for them.
They got moist towels to clean their hands!
They got a pizza crust.
Marinara sauce they spread it out with the container.

Then they put cheese on it.
Some kids got Pepperoni, but Sophie didn't want it on hers.
Each kid got to go watch their pizzas go through the oven!
 Getting to try their work!
One of the Sushi chefs, Chu did some cute little magic tricks for the kids.

Then he showed the kids how to make sushi rolls!

 Mmmmm California rolls.
They went down the line and offered the kids one. Most didn't even want to try one. Sophie did! That's my little Cali-girl!
They made a few orders for all the moms too. Nothing like sushi in the morning!!!
It was time to head back.
She had such a great time. There was only 2 kids that didn't have moms there. I am so glad I was able to go with her and be there for her. I think those little things are so important. It shows we care and we will do whatever we can to be there for our kids.

Daddy Date Night

Daddy has been talking about taking his little girl out for a date and tonight it finally worked out for them to go. The plan was to go out for tea and talk. Well, the Tea Smith at 78th was already close when daddy got home from work, so they decided to go to the downtown location. They had to park kind of far away because something was going on downtown. Well, when they got over there, it was closed for the night also. Even though their hours said they should have still been open. So, Vernon took her over to Hiro Sushi since he knew they had tea.
Afterwards they walked around to window shop and look around. Sophie loved seeing the dresses in the windows!
She loves her daddy so much. They have such a great relationship. She felt so special that she was out with her daddy by herself!!! Vernon said she is so serious and won't be goofy when they are out. She takes her dates very serious.

Awwww

Scare

After speech today we went to play in the indoor play area for a little bit before we went to pick up Sophie.

The kids were playing and having fun.
All of a sudden I turned around and couldn't find Vollen. I had shut the doors to the play area because I knew Vollen liked to get out and go. Well, I could not find him any where. I searched the hallways that lead out of the play area. Sherri watched Ronan while I was running around looking for Vollen. I went up and down every hallway and there was no signs or sounds of him. All the other moms and dads from speech were in there too with their kids and they all didn't see him go out either. I kept looking and re-looking in all the hallways thinking that I would hear him, but I knew he was fast and could be anywhere by now. I started to panic a little. After what felt like 10 minutes a lady came walking down the main hallway and said is anyone looking for a little boy. I said, "Yes, I am, where is he?" She said the OT's on the second floor have him. WHAT??? I ran up the stairs and could hear him as soon as I came out of the stairwell door. The ladies were laughing and saying how cute he was. The said he is so fast, we could barely corral him. They said that he had come up on the elevator by himself. W H A T in the....? I would have never thought to look on the SECOND floor. He gave me quite a scare. I have already posted on our DS Mom's facebook forum page requesting any tips from moms with older kids on what they did to get their kids to stay with them or by them and not run off. I have now learned I need to keep an even tighter reign on him and keep my eyes peeled all the time. He is so darn fast and smart. Little stinker.

Great Deal!

We now have all babies facing forward! Today we moved Ronan to the convertible seat! It does need a new cover, but he loves seeing all around and looking out the window!
 Playing around after naps.
Vollen gives the BEST hugs. They are actually so tight it can cut off your airway. No joke.
I let the kids play in the water today. They always love it.

So today there was a sale at Brownell Talbot's "closet". It's their gently used school uniforms that kids have grown out of or no longer have use for anymore. Vernon dropped the older two off at school and headed down there with the baby. It was buy one get one free. I sent him with sizes (I was at work) and he found a bunch of items. He found 4 jumpers, 2 skirts and 2 blue slacks. Guess, just guess how much he paid for all of it. TWENTY TWO DOLLARS. That's right TWENTY TWO for ALL of it! Can you believe it??? The 2 pants are Gap and the Rompers we looked up, they are $40 each, new. Crazy! I can't believe it still! All we need to get now are the white shirts that go under it. What a great deal!
