Halloween Day at the Park
Since it was so nice out today, we decided to get some exercise and walk to the park. My cousin Hellane came over with her baby Izaac. They had fun running around and swinging.

OB Appointment
Today I had my second ob appointment, this time with the actual doctor, Dr. Linda Collins. They switch off every appointment with the physician's assistant. This was the doctor who actually did my c-section with Sophie. So, I have kind of met her before, but I couldn't see her face with the surgical mask on in the delivery room. (If you are wondering, my original doctor, Dr. Robin Clemmer, that I had throughout my pregnancy with Sophie wasn't on call the day I went into labor with her so, Dr. Collins delivered Sophie, AND since then Dr. Clemmer had developed breast cancer and went through chemo and is not seeing any ob appointments anymore, so I had to switch to seeing Dr. Collins...I know confusing).
Anyway, my appointment today went good. She couldn't get the heartbeat with the wand-thingy (yeah, that's technical lingo for ya) so, I was in the ultrasound room anyway and she just whipped out the goop and did a quick ultrasound and we saw the baby moving all around and kicking up a storm and the heart beating. It was looking straight up and she got a picture of it's alien looking face and it's little legs.
She did say that they usually schedule the c-sections a week before the due date, which I am kind of bummed about. I really wanted it to be scheduled ON the due date: Monday, May 4th. So, it could be as early as Monday, April 27th, but she said we could do it just about anytime that week, so maybe I will go for a May Day baby!!!
Really nothing else exciting about the appointment. Everything is normal, which is a good thing.

First Pumpkin Carving
The girls are ready to pop open the pumpkin to see the guts inside.
They are looking at the goopy goop.
Touching the slime! She liked it and kept going in for more.
The finished pumpkin. Yeah

Visitors
Our friends Julie and Brad are visiting from Minnesota this weekend. Their son Will and Sophie were fast friends. Will was pushing Sophie around in her stroller. She loved getting pushed around.
They both loved playing in Raja's kennel. They think it is a cool fort.
Sophie was messing around and climbing around and got herself stuck in her toy box and couldn't get out.

Arrrrr Matey
Lately Sophie has been sticking her foot into buckets or other contraptions and walking around with them. She looks like she has a peg leg. Maybe we should changed her Halloween costume to a pirate!!!!

Big Girl Apple
So, I used to cut Sophie's apple up in small bite size pieces and take the skins off. Well, lately she has been wanting to eat the entire slice by herself, skin and all.

It's Monday and that's our FUNday!
We didn't have our funday last week because Vernon was going to be out of town and wanted to make a day up, so he worked last Monday. : ( We made up for it today.

Sick Day
Well, I haven't been feeling the greatest today. After lunch I was so tired I was falling asleep in my chair. I told Soph we've got to go take a nap now. She obliged. After I woke up from my nap my head was pounding so hard. I thought it was dehydration. I drank two huge glasses of water and took 2 Tylenol. It didn't get any better, in fact I started feeling worse. I felt nauseated and didn't want to move. This lasted for a good 2-3 hours and came in waves. I asked Sophie to bring me one of her buckets. She did. Then I had her drag my blanket over to me. I finally had to get up and go to the bathroom after drinking all that water. After I came back to my chair, I felt the puke coming up. I grabbed the bucket. Sophie stood in front of me while I was hurling and she kept saying mama, mama. Then she said Hi. Then she took her hand and rubbed my arm. It was precious. After I was finally done, I did feel a little better stomach wise, but my head was still pounding. Vernon could not have got home soon enough today. I was at the end of my rope and still couldn't do anything. Poopy day all in all : (

80's Flashback
So, yesterday I made homemade chili and today of course I had leftovers. I decided to feed Sophie some chili for her dinner and see if she would like it. All I kept thinking about was that scene from Mr. Mom when he feeds the baby Hormel Chili from the can and the tv repair woman saying, "Are you crazy? You don't feed a baby chili!" That kept replaying in my head over and over and it gave me a chuckle. BTW, that baby was like 6 months old in the movie AND Sophie is 16 months old and eats hamburger, onions, beans, corn, tomatoes, etc... all the time. She actually liked it! So, I feel okay that I gave it to her!!!
