Funny Girl

Sophie was such a great girl today. I didn't have to yell at her, no time outs, she was sweet to her brother. She went with mommy to the grocery store today by herself and was such a big helper and listened so well. We had a nice mother/daughter bonding time. She kept wanting me to give her BIG hugs and kisses the whole time we were shopping. She was so lovely and pleasant today, it was a treat!

Mary, Mason & Renae stopped over today to give Vollen a present and Sophie too! She got some My Little Ponies. She LOVES them!!!! I do too since I had them when I was little. I smelled them to see if they smelled the same, YEP they do!!! She had so much fun brushing their hair and playing with her "baby ponies" is what she calls them.
Mason is 4. They are playing kickball together. Mason is such a nice boy. Vernon was very impressed when he took them out back to play. He said Mason was so gentle and careful around Sophie and would kick the ball so nicely to her.
Addison and Jenni came over real quick to drop my flowers off that they gave me for my birthday. Sophie ran over to Addison screaming in delight and then she started giving Addison a shoulder massage!!! I am not even kidding. She side hugged her and then turned her around and started massaging her shoulders. Jenni and I couldn't believe it and we were laughing so hard.

Later on she came into the living room wearing this. I got such a kick out of her wearing her sunglasses in the house and strolling with her baby.

Mr. Vollen man, looking older. He seemed like a different baby today. I think he is getting really strong in his neck and torso area. He is able to grab onto my arm when propped up on my shoulder. He is really trying to coo a lot more and smiles constantly. All you have to do is talk to him and smile and he gets such a kick out of that, he gives you one right back! Such a joy to have such a wonderful baby.

Sophie kept serving us tea. Vollen even had a sip!!!

When daddy put Soph to bed tonight he couldn't believe what she was doing. She took each one of her babies and bears and laid them next to each other and then put their hands so they were holding each others hands and then she tucked them in and laid next to them and snuggled right in. She was so proud of herself. Vernon just had to get a picture.

I forgot to post this funny story from yesterday. When we were at the store there was this low display table with these padded bras on it. Sophie went over to them and pushed them down and said, "Boobies." I started laughing and said, "No baby, those are bras." She then said, "Oh, Bras!" Too funny!!!

Ladies Luncheon

Today we had my grandma over along with her two sisters. They wanted to see the baby and Sophie.
So I made them chicken salad and fruit. It was a hit!

Dress Up Fun

We were invited to join our neighbors, Jenni & Addison and their friends, Amy & Keegan (?sp) that are visiting from out of town, to go to Clara's Closet in Elkhorn to play dress up and have 'tea' (lemonaid) and snack. It was so much fun! Sophie was in a foul mood for a while. She was still exhausted from yesterday's busy day with no naps. For a while she wouldn't put anything on and then she wouldn't share, then she ripped off a firefighter coat and was throwing it on the floor and accidentally hit Jenni in the face (sorry again Jenni), but after a time out, she got a little better. Overall we had a great time and can't wait to do it again when the kids get a little bit older and maybe try another place too!
