This morning a friend texted me that Sophie's picture was on the front page of the Living section and it was huge! I told Vernon and we were in shock. We don't get the paper. I almost went over and snatched the neighbors paper to just look real quick, but I didn't. I jumped online on the Omaha World Herald's site to see if it was on there. There was a picture from the night before, but it wasn't her. Vernon was just leaving at that time to take Sophie to school. On the way he stopped to get a paper. He took a picture with his phone and sent it to me. I could not believe how BIG it was!!!! My baby was in the paper. I couldn't believe they used such a big photo and that it was her!!!!!!! I posted it on Facebook and I had over 150 of my friends and family like it and comment about it throughout the day. It was so touching how excited everyone was for her.
He brought the paper into Sophie's class so she could show her teacher and her classmates. She said she got to talk about it at rug time and one of her friends said she wanted to sign up and do it too! We talked to Sophie about being humble and not bragging or boasting about being in the fashion shows or being in the newspaper. There were some good lessons we got to teach her from this whole experience. I really think her confidence grew because of it.
We are so very proud of her!!!
